Auto Detailing Tip - How to Remove Cigarette Smoke Smell
Calling all detailers…if you’ve ever stepped into a customers vehicle and smelled cigarettes, you just smelled money (although it may have stunk a bit)! A smoker’s car is easily identified the moment you open the door, and it is gross. Unfortunately, most smokers become accustomed to the stink in their car. You will be doing them a favor by cleaning their car out!

Making money in detailing ISN’T easy..so take notice.

You need to upsell (see our other articles on nodents.com for more details on this!) to make good money in detailing, and ANY reasonable opportunity for you to pitch your client SHOULD be done!

So, ciggies. What do you do about it?

1) If your client is a heavy smoker,

A) you better charge at LEAST $50-75 the first time you do this)
B) You better: 1) shampoo/clean ALL fabrics in the vehicle (that means headliner too)

2) Clean the fresh air ducts using a mild bleach solution or anti fungal spray.

3) Recirculate the air system for one hour with the solution to kill and permeate the fresh air system ENTIRELY.

4) If you have any ozone machine- use it! But then add a subtle air freshener like Febreeze, because ozone isn’t too nice of a smelling product either..

2) If your’e client is NOT a heavy smoker, but somehow some smoke smell got in there, A) Try as above with ONLY the fresh air duct cleaning. If the smell still is there, then continue as above until the culprit leaves nicely.

Ok- so did I help you just make $50-$75 or what!? Now go upsell MORE!
